🎰 THE BOARD — ALL FIFTEEN, NO-VIG ATTACHED
Lines are a major book via ESPN's scoreboard, captured 1:47 AM ET Wed. Gameday re-verify, 7:14 AM ET: every priced game re-pulled before the 11:40 first pitch — all three leans stand at their published prices (MIL -162, SD -149, DET -102/MIN -118). Cosmetic drift elsewhere: ATL -163, BOS -137, TB -167, HOU -142, NYY -171, LAD -252 (fair ≈ -217, STL starter STILL unnamed — the NO PLAY stands). PHI@AZ finally posted; see its row. our data platform's game board and public-betting expanders were dark at capture (flap logged on today's prop card), so this is a mound-and-price board — the same recipe as August 29's 2-for-2. Fair value = juice stripped from the two-sided pair.
| Game (ET) | Book Price | No-Vig Fair | Verdict |
|---|---|---|---|
| SD @ CIN · 11:40a | SD -149 | -134 | LEAN SD 55 |
| ATL @ WSH · 12:05p | ATL -162 | -145 | 🎰 NO VALUE — Holmes over Kent is real but fully priced, and Washington just beat Atlanta 9-5 |
| ATH @ TEX · 1:35p | TEX -167 | -149 | 🎰 NO VALUE — Bradford's 3.42 with an 0-3 record is a better arm than the record says, but 18 cents of juice says the market knows |
| BAL @ COL · 2:10p | BAL -162 | -145 | 🎰 NO VALUE — road favorite at Coors laying 17 cents over fair is how bankrolls get altitude sickness |
| PHI @ AZ · 2:40p | PHI -115 / ARI -105 | PHI -104 | 🎰 NO VALUE — the line finally posted (ESPN, 7:14 AM ET) and it's a hedge: Clarke (2.60) owns a 3.35-run ERA edge over Painter (5.95), yet the books make PHILADELPHIA the favorite. When a book prices team class directly against the mound gap and lands eleven cents from a pure coin flip, it's telling you it can't pick a side — neither can we |
| SEA @ BOS · 3:10p | BOS -136 | -123 | 🎰 NO VALUE — Miller vs Sandoval is a 4.12-vs-4.20 shrug; Seattle won last night and the price barely moved |
| NYM @ TB · 5:40p | TB -168 | -150 | 🎰 NO VALUE — McClanahan against a Mets spot starter (Hagenman) is the right side at the wrong price |
| SF @ PIT · 5:40p | PIT -156 | -140 | 🎰 NO VALUE — these teams combined for 25 runs last night; nobody knows what either staff is today |
| TOR @ CLE · 5:40p | TOR -137 | -124 | PASS — we're already long Cease strikeouts on the prop card; stacking his moneyline is the same thesis twice (correlation printed, wallet closed) |
| DET @ MIN · 6:40p | DET -102 / MIN -118 | DET +107 | LEAN DET 52 |
| MIA @ KC · 6:40p | MIA -108 / KC -111 | ≈ pick'em | 🎰 NO VALUE — a true coin flip both books juice from both ends; there is nothing here but vig |
| MIL @ CHC · 6:40p | MIL -162 | -145 | LEAN MIL 57 |
| CHW @ HOU · 7:10p | HOU -141 | -127 | 🎰 NO VALUE — Chicago just beat this team 5-1 and Wesneski-over-Martin doesn't cover 14 cents |
| NYY @ LAA · 8:38p | NYY -169 | -150 | 🎰 NO VALUE — Schlittler (2.09) is the board's second-best arm and the market has charged full retail plus tax |
| STL @ LAD · 9:10p | LAD -246 | -213 | NO PLAY — St. Louis hasn't named a starter; we do not price a mystery, even one facing Yamamoto |
⚡ THE JUICE — WHY THESE THREE
Misiorowski at 1.73 against a 5.11 is not a subtle edge, and Milwaukee beating Chicago 9-4 in Wrigley last night removes the where-are-they-mentally question. The entire debate is arithmetic: our read has to make Milwaukee better than a 61.8% team tonight to beat the book's number, and a 14-5 ace against the Cubs' fifth-best starter clears that bar — barely, which is why this is a 57 and not the 65 the matchup screams.
A 6.11 ERA starter at home against a 3.45 in the season's stretch run is the kind of gap that usually costs -170. It costs -149 because the Reds won last night and because nobody's awake for an 11:40 first pitch. Day-game-after-night-game lineups are the honest risk — if Machado and two other regulars sit, this read thins fast, and first pitch beats any lineup verification we can do at 2 AM.
Fifteen to two. That was last night's score, and it is doing all of the talking in this price — the market moved Minnesota to favorite off one blowout while tonight's actual pitching matchup (Anderson 3.87 vs Kremer 5.60, with Detroit already having detonated Kremer once this season) points the other way. Buying a team the morning after it got embarrassed, against the board's most slug-friendly starter, is uncomfortable on purpose. The 52 says exactly how uncomfortable.
