Cameron Brink is the whole story, three times over
Three of the four largest Edge Gaps on the entire board belong to Cameron Brink, and all three point the same direction into the same wall.
| Leg | Odds | Edge Gap | Atlanta's rank defending it | H2H |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cameron Brink Over 11.5 Points+Rebounds | −115 | +28.9 | 3rd | 0% |
| Cameron Brink Over 5.5 Rebounds+Assists | −119 | +25.4 | 1st | 0% |
| Cameron Brink Over 4.5 Rebounds | −105 | +23.4 | 2nd | 0% |
Her recent form is genuinely excellent — 100% over the last five on two of the three, 90% over the last ten on all three. That form was built against the rest of the league. Tonight she plays the team ranked first, second and third in the league at suppressing exactly the three categories the screen likes her in, and her head-to-head figure against them is 0% across the board.
The biggest survivor was killed by a projection
Jackie Young Over 24.5 Points+Rebounds at +105 was the best thing on this board that cleared the matchup gate. Connecticut ranks 6th defending the category — genuinely neutral, no red flag. Edge Gap +18.6, and plus money on a combo line is rare.
Then the projection: our lineup service has her at 17.7 points and 5.2 rebounds — 22.9 against a 24.5 line. The projection lands on the wrong side, and not marginally; it is a point and a half short. Add the game script — Las Vegas is a 14.5-point favourite, the largest spread on the slate, and a minutes-dependent Over is the single most fragile thing you can hold when a game gets away early in either direction.
Edge Gap said yes, matchup said fine, projection said no. Under the three-signal rule that is not a top-tier pick, it is a disagreement, and we let this step remove it. Projections are models too — our lineup service is not right because it is a projection, it is one independent read that happens to contradict ours.
The rest of the drops
- Caitlin Clark Under 4.5 Rebounds (+23.2) — Conflicts. Dallas ranks 8th at defending rebounds, which is the wrong direction for an Under. We hit this identical leg on August 16 against New York's 3rd-ranked unit; the rank has flipped and so has the verdict.
- Paige Bueckers Under 15.5 1H Pts+Reb+Ast (+21.1) — Conflicts, same shape. Indiana ranks 9th defending the category. An Under into a weak defence is the screen's blind spot in its purest form.
- Jewell Loyd Under 3.5 1H Points (+17.6) — dropped on availability, not matchup. our data platform is flagging "team injuries may impact playing time" on this row. A first-half points prop is the single most playing-time-sensitive line on the board, and on August 18 a first-half combo leg lost because the player left at 3:31 of the first quarter. We are not taking that shape while a minutes warning is showing.
- Dearica Hamby Over 1.5 Assists, Kelsey Mitchell Over 1.5 Assists, A'ja Wilson Over 0.5 Threes — all priced at −220 or worse once re-priced off the real best book. A 90% hit rate at −240 is not an edge, it is the market agreeing with you and charging for it.
- Chelsea Gray Under 3.5 Rebounds (+10.7) — deduplicated against the leg we published, and it is the weaker of the two anyway: our lineup service projects her at 3.9 rebounds, which is on the wrong side of 3.5. That the combo version survives and the component version does not is the reason we look at both.
