Thursday Night, Buccaneers at Cowboys: No Side, No Total — and Two Floors on the Team Nobody Wants

Buccaneers at Cowboys. Mayfield is out and an undrafted rookie makes his second start against the league's 31st-ranked run defense. The two books disagree on the side and three ratings land on three sides of the number — a stay-away, printed. Two props publish, both Tampa Bay floors: Irving Over 44.5 rushing yards and Godwin Over 24.5 receiving yards. Twelve tiles rated with the why on each.

Thursday night: a winless team, an undrafted rookie, and a favorite the market-maker's money will not follow

Tampa Bay (0–4) at Dallas (2–2), 8:15 PM ET at AT&T Stadium. Baker Mayfield is out with a dislocated thumb, so undrafted rookie Jalon Daniels makes his second start against a Dallas defense that is 28th in scoring, 31st against the run and last in the league in yards allowed per play. The side is a stay-away — the two books disagree about who the money likes and the three rating systems land on three different sides of the number. Totals do not publish on this site (the record is 10 of 29). The card is two props, both on the team nobody wants: Bucky Irving Over 44.5 rushing yards (−175) and Chris Godwin Over 24.5 receiving yards (−194). Twenty overs across both teams are on the companion card, Get SYNKD on Thursday Night.

How to read the money. "The public book" is a major U.S. book; "the market-maker" is the Vegas market-making book; "our data platform" is the platform whose Match Details, panels and prices drive every tile. Opponent ranks are four-game 2026 numbers and score a point at most. Every published price is the platform's price at capture (captured Thu Oct 8, 3:01–3:13 PM ET) and a published leg grades at that price. Both published legs are alternate lines below the main number, priced inside the standing prop band (+200 to −400).

⚡ THE JUICE. Start with who is not playing. Tampa Bay: Baker Mayfield is out (right thumb dislocation, at least three weeks by his coach's account). Receiver Jalen McMillan is on injured reserve. On defense, safety Antoine Winfield (ribs), corner Benjamin Morrison and linebacker SirVocea Dennis are all out. Dallas: corner Cobie Durant, linebacker DeMarvion Overshown and tackle Drew Shelton are out; guard Tyler Smith (thumb) and receiver Jonathan Mingo (illness) are Questionable. The quarterback. Jalon Daniels has one NFL start: 19 of 27 for 148 yards and eight carries for 55 against Green Bay on Sunday. Tampa Bay's offense before and after the change is 24th in scoring (19 a game), 28th in passing (172.2), 31st in the red zone and last in sacks allowed (four a game). The matchup in two lines: Tampa Bay runs into a defense that is 31st against the run (150.2 a game), 32nd in yards per play (6.4) and 31st on third down (52.3% allowed) — that is the Irving tile. Dallas scores 30.5 a game, converts 81% of its red-zone trips and throws on 59% of its plays into a defense that is 3rd against the run and missing two starters in the secondary — that is why every Dallas tile is a passing tile, and why the favorite's script is the question on each one.
💸 THE CROWD VS THE CASH. The public book: Cowboys 79% of the spread money on 68% of tickets — a CONTRARIAN tag for Tampa Bay; Over 98% of the money on 75% of tickets; moneyline Cowboys 61% $ on 82% of tickets. The market-maker: Buccaneers 53% of the spread money on 25% of tickets — dollars 28 points ahead of tickets, a SHARP tag for Tampa Bay; Over 87% of the money on 81% of tickets. Our data platform (Match Details): spread 68% of bets and 80% of money on Dallas; total 74% of bets and 98% of money on the Over. Tracker: Cowboys −8.5 at four Nevada books including the market-maker · −9 at two · −8 at one · −9.5 on our platform and at the public book. This page did not show openers, so the size of the move since Mayfield was ruled out is not printed here. Three rating systems (home line): −9.4 / −12.6 / −6.6 against a market of −8.5 to −9.5 — one on the number, one on Dallas by three, one on Tampa Bay by three; projected totals 49.4 and 46.8. The network's expert room: Cowboys 6 (laying −8 to −9.5), Buccaneers 3 (two at +8.5, one on the moneyline at +400); one Under 47.5, one Dallas team total Over 29.5. Not captured this run: the weekly systems report, opening lines, referee data.
🎯 STAY AWAY on the side. There is a real case for Tampa Bay +9.5: the public book's tickets are 68% Dallas, the market-maker's dollars are on the Buccaneers at 53% against 25% of tickets, and one rating system makes this Dallas by 6.6. There is a real case against it: the public book's dollars are 79% Dallas, the second rating system makes it Dallas by 12.6, six of nine experts are laying the points, and the team catching them is 0–4 with an undrafted rookie who threw for 148 yards in his only start. When the two books' dollars sit on opposite teams, this card stays away — and last Sunday our sides built on sharp dollars without the ratings behind them went 1–2. Printed, not published: Buccaneers +9.5 (−102). No total. Both books and the platform have the Over money one-way (87% to 98%), the two model totals straddle the number, and this site stopped publishing totals on Tuesday. The plays are the two Tampa Bay floors below.

An undrafted rookie making his second start because Baker Mayfield is out with a dislocated right thumb. In his first — Sunday against Green Bay — he went 19 of 27 for 148 yards and ran eight times for 55. Dallas is 31st against the run and 32nd in yards allowed per play, and a quarterback trailing by a score or two scrambles. But one start is one start: the short-sample gate keeps every Daniels main line at WATCH, and this card does not override it by hand. His passing line (183.5) is 35 yards above what he threw for on Sunday. The floors — carries, completions and a lower rushing number — are on the SYNKD card, ranked at the bottom for exactly this reason.

40, 46, 25 and 31 this season — four for four over this number — and eight of his last ten. He is the short-area receiver in this offense: an 80% catch rate, half his routes from the slot, and six catches for 31 yards when Daniels started on Sunday. A rookie quarterback's completions go to the slot and the tight end. Jalen McMillan is on injured reserve, so the receiver room is Egbuka, Godwin and a rookie. The tool gives him the second-best matchup in the game (+0.31 against Dallas's slot corner), and Dallas is 32nd in yards allowed per play and 31st on third down. The argument against: he cleared this line by half a yard in one game (25), the main line is 31.5 and he is two for four over that — this is a floor bet at a floor price (−194, break-even 66%).

Dallas allows 150.2 rushing yards a game (31st), 6.4 yards a play (32nd) and a 52.3% conversion rate on third down (31st), and it will be without linebacker DeMarvion Overshown. Tampa Bay's plan with an undrafted rookie at quarterback is not a mystery: Irving had 16 carries in Daniels's start. The main line is 52.5 and he is two for four over that; this is the same read eight yards lower, at −175 (break-even 64%). The argument against is the scoreboard: Tampa Bay is a 9.5-point underdog, and the one game this season he fell short of 10 carries (eight, at Cincinnati) he still ran for 45.

Tampa Bay is 3rd against the run, so Dallas throws — and the Buccaneers' secondary is missing safety Antoine Winfield and corner Benjamin Morrison. The panel clears the line by 18. What keeps it off the card is the game: Dallas is a 9.5-point favorite against an undrafted rookie, and a quarterback with a three-score lead stops throwing in the fourth quarter. Monday's two misses on the companion page were exactly this — passing volume on the favorite. WATCH on the main line; a 229.5 floor is on the SYNKD card.

Screened and declined, on the record: every Daniels main line (one start — the short-sample gate); Prescott Over 268.5 (panel clears by 18; a 9.5-point favorite's fourth quarter is the risk); Lamb Over 83.5 (median 111.5, but the opponent is 8th against receiving yards — the wrong way, Conflicts); Pickens either way at 63.5 (median under the line; the expert room disagrees); Williams Under 67.5 (median, windows and opponent all agree; the favorite's script does not); Ferguson Under 26.5 (three stars at −113 — the record's losing price band); Otton Over 24.5 (four for four this season, two stars on the ten-game window); Egbuka either way (13 yards with this quarterback); Hurst Over 16.5 (four for four on two catches a game); Gainwell (0 for 4 this season on his combined line); Tucker and Tez Johnson (under two targets or four carries a game); the Buccaneers +9.5 and any total (see the verdict).

The argument against the card. Both legs are on a winless offense quarterbacked by a player with one start. If Dallas scores on its first three drives, Irving's carries are the first thing Tampa Bay gives up, and a quarterback who is sacked four times a game does not complete many passes to anyone. These are floors, priced as floors: the pair needs to win about two times in three to break even.
